Skiing

Last Thursday the ventures travelled to Dublin for some midterm fun. The section were joined by the newly formed rover section on the first joint activity. After getting a bite to eat in Santry, everyone went to see the Social Network in the cinema. The popcorn was munched, the drinks were slurped and the film was very good! After the film we then followed Keith and his sat nav to the dry ski slope in Kilternan. Keiths sat nav which has already lost all repsect from us, took us on quite a scenic journey through the city centre, down by the Aviva stadium, through Ballsbridge, over the M50 and finally....Kilternan! We donned our skis and headed out for serious fun! We all had to do a beginners course except for Ro and Al who are pro skiers at this stage. Keith showed that skiing may not be for him as he consistently hit the same corner post every time and even tried leaving on his skis via the gate!!! The skiing was great craic and afterwards we headed to Phibsboro were we spent the night in the 19th/36th Dublin scout hall, a big thank you to them for the use of their hall! After some nice Chinese food and a game of scout football,we all departed for bed, the skiing takes a lot out of you! Overall the trip was very successful and will definitely be a runner for next time.
