Last night our scout group had an awards night in the Lisdoo. The event was organised by Andrew Mc Manus as part of his wood badge project and was a huge success. The event was attended by Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Ventures, Rovers, Leaders and special guests included Peter Dixon, Seán Casey, Seán Mc Cooey and Chief Scout, Michael John Shinnick. Guests from the other scout groups in the county and province were also in attendance. Several leaders received meritorious awards, service awards and first aid certs. Four leaders recieved their woodbeads and Peter Dixon was made an honorary lifetime member of the group. Four members recieved scouting Irelands highest acolade, the Order of Cúchullain. They were; Jack Cummiskey, Michael Crawley and Frank Mc Ardle. Seán Mc Cooey received the same awards a short time ago. There was a short indoor camp fire led by Brendan Mc Guinness and was enjoyed by all. A big thank you to Andrew for organising the night which was a brilliant success. Bravo!!!
